The C-series is the OLED most people should buy, and the 2026 C6 keeps that crown. Every pixel lights itself, so you get perfect blacks, infinite contrast and wide viewing angles, which is ideal for dark-room film nights and fast sport alike.

New for 2026 is LG's α11 AI Gen3 processor, borrowed from the pricier G-series, for sharper upscaling of TV channels and streaming. Gamers get four HDMI 2.1 ports, refresh rates up to 165Hz, NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync support, so it works brilliantly with a PS5, Xbox or gaming PC.

It supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, which Samsung's OLEDs don't, and runs LG's webOS smart platform with all the major UK and Irish streaming apps.

This size: At 77 inches LG sells the C6H version, which uses the brighter Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panel normally found in more expensive models. That makes it a particularly good-value big screen.

2. LG OLED evo G6 (2026) – 77-inch

Our verdict: LG's flagship gallery-style OLED: much brighter than the C6, with an ultra-low-reflection screen designed to hang flush on the wall.

The G6 uses LG's Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panel, which stacks separate red, green and blue light layers for significantly higher brightness and richer colour than standard OLEDs. LG says it reaches peak brightness several times higher than its entry-level B6, and in practice HDR films and sport look punchy even in a bright living room.

Its Reflection Free Premium screen coating cuts glare from windows and lamps dramatically. The slim 'gallery' design is intended to be wall-mounted, so check whether a table stand is included in your country if you need one.

Gaming features match the C6: four HDMI 2.1 ports, 165Hz, G-Sync and FreeSync. If your room is bright or you want the best picture LG makes, the G6 is worth the premium.

3. Samsung S95H OLED (2026) – 77-inch

Our verdict: Samsung's flagship QD-OLED with a matte glare-free screen, class-leading HDR brightness and a new 48-inch size.

The S95H uses Samsung Display's QD-OLED panel (in the 55-inch and larger sizes), which produces exceptionally bright, saturated colours. Its matte Glare Free screen all but eliminates reflections, making it the OLED to choose if your living room gets a lot of daylight.

Gamers get four HDMI 2.1 ports and up to 165Hz, and Samsung's Tizen platform includes the Samsung Gaming Hub for cloud gaming without a console. New for 2026, the S95H gains Samsung's Art Store, so it can display artwork when you're not watching.

The big caveat: Samsung doesn't support Dolby Vision, using HDR10+ instead. Most streaming services also offer HDR10+ or HDR10 versions, but film fans with a large Dolby Vision library may prefer LG or Sony.

4. Samsung S90H OLED (2026) – 77-inch

Our verdict: Samsung's mid-range OLED gives you four HDMI 2.1 ports and 165Hz gaming in more sizes, from 42 to 83 inches.

Best for: Value OLED with strong gaming features

The S90H is Samsung's value-focused OLED. It covers more sizes than the S95H, including compact 42-inch and 48-inch models, and keeps the gaming essentials: four HDMI 2.1 ports and refresh rates up to 165Hz.

Depending on size and region, it uses either a WOLED or a QD-OLED panel, so check the listing if the panel type matters to you. It isn't as bright as the S95H and lacks the matte glare-free finish, but it's often priced competitively against LG's C6.

As with all Samsung TVs, there's HDR10+ but no Dolby Vision.

5. Panasonic Z95B OLED (2025) – 77-inch

Our verdict: Panasonic's flagship OLED is tuned by Hollywood colourists, supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and has a powerful built-in sound system.

Best for: Great built-in sound and support for every HDR format

Panasonic is one of very few brands that supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10+, so whatever format your streaming service uses, you get the best version. Its picture is tuned with professional colourists for an accurate, cinematic look.

The built-in 360° Soundscape Pro speaker system is far better than typical TV audio, so many buyers won't need a soundbar. Smart features come from Amazon's Fire TV platform with Alexa built in, and there are Game Mode Extreme settings for PS5 and Xbox.

It's a 2025 model, so look out for discounts as new stock arrives.
