This policy explains how a2zcheck ("we", "us"), operator of a2zcheck.com, handles personal data. We are the data controller. Contact: [email protected], Dublin 18, Ireland.

What we collect

• Nothing to browse the site. We don't use analytics, advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
• Your country and language choice are stored only in your own browser (local storage) so the site remembers them. They are never sent to us. You can clear them at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically records technical data such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, to keep the service secure and working. These logs are kept for a short period and are not used to identify you. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in running a secure website.
• Emails you send us. If you email us we use your email address and message only to reply. Legal basis: legitimate interests. We delete correspondence when it's no longer needed, usually within 12 months.

When you click a retailer link

When you click a "Check price" button you leave our site. The retailer or affiliate network (for example Amazon or Awin) may set its own cookies to record that you came from a2zcheck, so it can pay us a commission. Their own privacy and cookie policies apply.

Sharing and transfers

We don't sell or share your personal data. Our host may process server logs on our behalf under a data processing agreement. If data is processed outside the EEA, it's protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR (and UK GDPR) you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, restrict or object to its use, and receive a copy of it. Email [email protected]. You have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 16 and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We'll update this page if anything changes and show the new date at the top.

Reviews and requests you send us

If you use our review or "request a comparison" form, we receive what you type (first name, country, rating, message and, if you give it, your email). It is emailed to us and kept in a private file on our web host, not on the public site. We publish a review only if you ticked the box to agree, and then only with your first name and country, never your email. To stop people sending spam, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for one hour. We delete form messages after 12 months, or sooner if you ask us at [email protected].
