Good to know: there is currently no 100-inch OLED TV. The largest OLED you can buy is 97 inches, and in 2026 only LG makes one. 98-inch and 100-inch TVs do exist, but they use LCD-based technologies such as Mini LED or RGB LED rather than OLED.

The G6 uses LG's Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panel, which stacks separate red, green and blue light layers for significantly higher brightness and richer colour than standard OLEDs. LG says it reaches peak brightness several times higher than its entry-level B6, and in practice HDR films and sport look punchy even in a bright living room.

Its Reflection Free Premium screen coating cuts glare from windows and lamps dramatically. The slim 'gallery' design is intended to be wall-mounted, so check whether a table stand is included in your country if you need one.

Gaming features match the C6: four HDMI 2.1 ports, 165Hz, G-Sync and FreeSync. If your room is bright or you want the best picture LG makes, the G6 is worth the premium.

This size: The 97-inch G6 is the largest OLED TV LG sells. It uses a different panel from the smaller G6 sizes, so it isn't quite as bright, but at this size the sense of scale is extraordinary, and it launched well below the 97-inch G5's price.

When a new model arrives, retailers often discount the outgoing one. The G5 was LG's 2025 flagship and still delivers excellent contrast, colour and Dolby Vision support.

At 97 inches it is one of very few OLED TVs this big. Compare the current price with the newer G6: the G6 97-inch launched at a much lower price than the G5 did, so the older model is only worth it if it is clearly cheaper.

97-inch OLED or 98-inch Mini LED?

A 97-inch OLED gives you perfect blacks, no blooming around bright objects and superb viewing angles, which is ideal for a dedicated cinema room. A 98-inch or 100-inch Mini LED TV is usually brighter and much cheaper, which suits bright rooms or sports viewing with the lights on.

If your budget allows and you watch mostly films in a darker room, the 97-inch OLED is the more special experience.

Before you buy a TV this big

A 97-inch TV is about 2.15 metres wide and 1.2 metres tall. Check it will fit through your doors and stairways in its box, confirm your wall can take the weight if mounting, and ask the retailer about delivery and installation. Most offer a two-person service for screens this size.
