1. LG OLED evo C6 (2026) – 48-inch

The C-series is the OLED most people should buy, and the 2026 C6 keeps that crown. Every pixel lights itself, so you get perfect blacks, infinite contrast and wide viewing angles, which is ideal for dark-room film nights and fast sport alike.

New for 2026 is LG's α11 AI Gen3 processor, borrowed from the pricier G-series, for sharper upscaling of TV channels and streaming. Gamers get four HDMI 2.1 ports, refresh rates up to 165Hz, NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync support, so it works brilliantly with a PS5, Xbox or gaming PC.

It supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, which Samsung's OLEDs don't, and runs LG's webOS smart platform with all the major UK and Irish streaming apps.

2. Samsung S95H OLED (2026) – 48-inch

Our verdict: Samsung's flagship QD-OLED with a matte glare-free screen, class-leading HDR brightness and a new 48-inch size.

The S95H uses Samsung Display's QD-OLED panel (in the 55-inch and larger sizes), which produces exceptionally bright, saturated colours. Its matte Glare Free screen all but eliminates reflections, making it the OLED to choose if your living room gets a lot of daylight.

Gamers get four HDMI 2.1 ports and up to 165Hz, and Samsung's Tizen platform includes the Samsung Gaming Hub for cloud gaming without a console. New for 2026, the S95H gains Samsung's Art Store, so it can display artwork when you're not watching.

The big caveat: Samsung doesn't support Dolby Vision, using HDR10+ instead. Most streaming services also offer HDR10+ or HDR10 versions, but film fans with a large Dolby Vision library may prefer LG or Sony.

This size: The 48-inch S95H uses a tandem WOLED panel rather than QD-OLED, but still benefits from Samsung's glare-free finish and processing.

3. Samsung S90H OLED (2026) – 48-inch

Our verdict: Samsung's mid-range OLED gives you four HDMI 2.1 ports and 165Hz gaming in more sizes, from 42 to 83 inches.

The S90H is Samsung's value-focused OLED. It covers more sizes than the S95H, including compact 42-inch and 48-inch models, and keeps the gaming essentials: four HDMI 2.1 ports and refresh rates up to 165Hz.

Depending on size and region, it uses either a WOLED or a QD-OLED panel, so check the listing if the panel type matters to you. It isn't as bright as the S95H and lacks the matte glare-free finish, but it's often priced competitively against LG's C6.

As with all Samsung TVs, there's HDR10+ but no Dolby Vision.

4. LG OLED evo C5 (2025) – 48-inch

Our verdict: The 2025 C-series is still a superb TV, and discounts make it the value pick in the smaller sizes.

Best for: Great OLED picture at a clearance price

The C5 offers most of what makes the C6 great, including self-lit OLED pixels, Dolby Vision, four HDMI 2.1 ports and G-Sync/FreeSync gaming, with a slightly older processor and a 144Hz maximum refresh rate instead of 165Hz.

Unless you're a competitive PC gamer, those differences are hard to spot. If you find a C5 noticeably cheaper than the C6, it's a smart buy, especially in the 42-inch and 48-inch sizes that work well as gaming monitors.
