Full review

The Cube Aim Pro is the most relaxed bike in this comparison. It is built for riders who split their time between forest tracks, towpaths and the odd trail rather than chasing technical descents, and the specification reflects that. The aluminium frame has internal cable routing, a tapered head tube and mounts for a carrier and kickstand, and Cube also sells a fully equipped Aim Pro FE with mudguards, kickstand and carrier already fitted.

Shimano's Cues 1x11 drivetrain with an 11-50T cassette is simple to use and covers most hills, while the SR Suntour XCT fork with 100 mm of travel takes the edge off rough surfaces. The wheels are tubeless-ready, and Cube sizes the wheels to the frame, with 27.5 in wheels on XS and S and 29 in on M to XL, which helps smaller riders.

Compared with the Giant Talon 0 and Trek Marlin 7 it is heavier at 15.5 kg, has no dropper fitted and uses smaller 160 mm rotors, so it is less exciting on technical trails. Cube also states a maximum rider weight of 100 kg, lower than most bikes here, and notes that parts may differ from the listing because of supply issues.

Choose it if comfort, practicality and the chance to add mudguards matter more than outright trail performance.

Spec check note: Cube lists the brake as PM/FM (160/160), which we read as 160 mm rotors front and rear. Cube warns that supply issues may mean the delivered bike has modified parts. The range page shows a newer model-year designation, so check the exact parts on the bike you buy.
