Full review
Most cheap Chromebooks have 11 or 14-inch screens, so the CX15 stands out with a 15.6-inch full HD display that ASUS rates at 300 nits. That makes it easier on the eyes for long browsing sessions, spreadsheets in Google Sheets or watching video at a desk, and the HDMI port lets you connect it to a TV.
The weak point is the processor. Both versions use dual-core Intel chips: the CX1505CKA has an older Celeron N4500 and the CX1505CTA a newer Intel N50. Older N4000-series Celerons are best avoided where possible, and on a Chromebook they will cope with a few tabs, email and video but slow down with heavier multitasking. Choose an 8GB version if you can; ASUS lists 4GB, 8GB and 16GB options for the CTA model.
The build is designed for families and schools, with a spill-resistant keyboard and MIL-STD-810H durability claims. The CTA version adds a second USB-C port and a 1080p webcam. ASUS does not list Wi-Fi details on its spec page; a UK retailer lists Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 for the CTA version.
Buy this if you want the biggest screen for the least money and your needs are light. For anything more, the HP Chromebook Plus 14a is much quicker.

Spec check note: ASUS's spec page does not list screen resolution, panel type, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth versions, or keyboard backlight. Full HD resolution, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 come from a UK retailer listing for the CX1505CTA. Thickness is ASUS's 2.01 cm figure. ASUS does not publish a battery-life claim. UK retailers sell a CX15 with an Intel N50 and 4GB/64GB, which is the minimum we would consider.
