Best projectors under €250 in 2026

Updated · 5 products compared · 16 features compared

A cheap projector is a fun way to get a big picture for films in a bedroom or a garden. Under €250 you can now get native 1080p and built-in apps from known brands, though brightness is low, so these are best in a dark room.

We found no projector under €100 whose maker publishes full specs and a price we could check, so this page starts at the cheapest models we can stand behind. We compared five from four brands. The price column shows the maker's own store price, list price or official launch price as we found it on 2 November 2026. Shops often charge less, and prices change daily, so use the buttons to check today's price.

Pros

  • Native 1080p image from a compact, light body
  • Polished XGIMI software and set-up features
  • A battery-powered version exists for portable use
  • Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 for casting and speaker use

Cons

  • 250 ISO lumens needs a properly dark room
  • Small 3 W speakers lack bass
  • HDR and input lag are not published

The Vibe One is XGIMI's attempt to bring its brand into the entry-level market. It uses a Full HD LCD panel with an LED light source, which keeps the body small at 1.2 kg and the cost low, but it also limits the image to the sort of brightness you expect at this level. At 250 ISO lumens, the maker's own figure, it suits a darkened bedroom or living room at night, ideally with the image kept between 60 and 100 inches where XGIMI says the picture is at its best.

Setting up is the strong point. The throw ratio of 1.3:1 is conventional, and the maker's software handles focus and keystone correction so you can place it on a shelf or table without much fuss. The built-in apps platform covers most streaming, though check that your services are supported.

Sound comes from two 3 W speakers tuned by JBL. They are fine for dialogue at close range but will not fill a larger room, so many owners will want to use the Bluetooth connection for an external speaker. The single HDMI input supports eARC, and there is one USB port.

XGIMI does not publish HDR support or input lag for this model, so it is not one to buy for fast gaming. As a simple, tidy way to get a big picture in a small room, it makes sense, particularly if you want a recognised name and the option of a battery version later.

Xiaomi Smart Projector L1

Best for: Android TV apps on a budget · Budget

An affordable Android TV projector with a Full HD panel from a major brand, but one of the dimmer models here.

Compare prices in other countries

Each shop shows its own price, currency and delivery terms. Not every shop delivers abroad, and taxes can differ.

Pros

  • Full HD panel with a short 1.2:1 throw
  • Android TV platform with a wide app range
  • Compact at 1.2 kg
  • Established brand with wide support

Cons

  • 200 ISO lumens is the dimmest of the group
  • Small 3 W speakers
  • HDR, ports and input lag not published

Xiaomi's Smart Projector L1 is the straightforward entry point to its projector range. It combines a 1080p LCD panel with an Android TV based system and a compact 1.2 kg body. The brightness claim of 200 ISO lumens is low, so it is only really suitable for a dark room, and the 60 to 100 inch sizes Xiaomi recommends are a sensible ceiling.

A throw ratio of 1.2:1 is shorter than many rivals, so you can get a large picture without placing it far from the wall. This helps in small bedrooms and flats. Setting up is meant to be simple, and the system on board gives you access to the usual streaming services through the Android TV app store, which is a real benefit over proprietary systems with smaller catalogues.

The two 3 W speakers support Dolby Audio, but they are small units and will struggle in anything larger than a bedroom. Bluetooth output to a separate speaker is a worthwhile upgrade.

Xiaomi's pages do not give HDR support, input lag or the full port list in the sources we could read, so we have marked them as not stated. That makes it a poor fit for games consoles and for anyone who wants to know exactly what they can plug in. If your priority is the easiest route to a big picture with proper streaming apps and you can control the light in the room, the L1 is a sensible low-cost choice.

Yaber T1 Pro
Best for bedrooms

Yaber T1 Pro

Best for: Cheap bedroom movie nights · Budget

A low-cost Full HD projector with built-in streaming apps, but modest brightness and an undocumented spec sheet.

Ad · affiliate links

Compare prices in other countries

Each shop shows its own price, currency and delivery terms. Not every shop delivers abroad, and taxes can differ.

Pros

  • Native 1080p resolution
  • Streaming apps are built in, so no stick is needed
  • Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 are modern for the class
  • Compact and light enough to carry between rooms

Cons

  • 220 ISO lumens is dim, so a dark room is essential
  • Imaging technology and ports are not published on the page
  • Linux-based software has a smaller app catalogue than Google TV

The T1 Pro is a budget projector that aims to be an all-in-one box: a Full HD image, a speaker and a set of streaming apps in a 1.25 kg body. Yaber claims 220 ISO lumens, which is on the low side even for this class, so think of it as a bedroom or evening-only projector. In a lit room the picture will wash out quickly.

The 1.18:1 throw ratio is short enough to give a decent image from a bedside table or shelf, and Yaber recommends sizes of 40 to 120 inches. Native 1080p is a genuine advantage over cheaper 720p models, and the maker lists HDR10, though at this brightness the benefit is limited.

The software runs on Linux rather than Android or Google TV. Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video come preinstalled, which covers most needs, but you will not find the wide app store of Google TV. If that matters, you can still cast from a phone or laptop using Wi-Fi 6, or connect a streaming stick.

Audio comes from a single 8 W speaker. That is enough for dialogue in a small room, and Bluetooth 5.4 lets you pair a better speaker. Yaber does not publish the imaging technology, input lag or a full port list on the product page, so check the box contents before buying if you plan to connect a games console. As a basic, affordable way into home projection it is reasonable, provided expectations on brightness are realistic.

Yaber L1 Pro
Lightest

Yaber L1 Pro

Best for: Lightest, simplest set-up · Budget

A very light Full HD projector with licensed Netflix and auto set-up, but a single mono speaker and limited brightness.

Ad · affiliate links

Compare prices in other countries

Each shop shows its own price, currency and delivery terms. Not every shop delivers abroad, and taxes can differ.

Pros

  • Very light at under a kilogram
  • Native 1080p with 4K input accepted
  • Auto focus and keystone correction
  • Licensed Netflix on board

Cons

  • 240 ISO lumens limits it to dark rooms
  • Single mono speaker
  • Spec sheet is incomplete and speaker output is inconsistent

The L1 Pro is one of the lightest Full HD projectors in this group at 0.875 kg, which makes it easy to move from room to room or pack for a trip. It claims 240 ISO lumens, so it needs a darkened room, but at sensible sizes of 60 to 100 inches the picture is fine for films and series in the evening.

Resolution is native 1080p, and the maker's FAQ says it accepts a 4K signal and scales it down. Auto focus and auto keystone correction mean you can place it on a table at roughly 1.5 to 4 metres from the wall and have a usable image within seconds. Yaber says it boots to an image in under 15 seconds, and fan noise is quoted at about 32 dB.

The software is Linux-based with officially licensed Netflix plus Prime Video, YouTube and Disney+. That covers the main services, though the app range is narrower than Google TV. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 are included, and the physical connections are one HDMI, one USB 2.0 and a 3.5 mm audio output.

Sound is the weak spot: there is a single speaker, and the maker's page is inconsistent about whether it is 5 W or 8 W. Either way it is mono, so a Bluetooth or wired speaker is a good idea. HDR, throw ratio and input lag are not stated. It is a simple, portable option for casual viewing rather than a performance pick.

Philips NeoPix 130W (NPX130W/INT)
Basic alternative

Philips NeoPix 130W (NPX130W/INT)

Best for: Occasional, small-screen casual use · Budget

A cheap, simple 720p LED projector with auto focus, but dim, low resolution and best treated as a basic extra screen.

Ad · affiliate links

Compare prices in other countries

Each shop shows its own price, currency and delivery terms. Not every shop delivers abroad, and taxes can differ.

Pros

  • Auto focus and keystone correction make set-up easy
  • Long-life LED light source
  • Compact and light
  • Familiar brand with local support

Cons

  • Only 720p resolution
  • Very low brightness, so only works in a dark room
  • Maker publishes few figures and the smart system is basic

The NeoPix 130W is the least ambitious projector in this group, and it is worth being clear about that. It has a 720p image, an LED light source that Philips says lasts up to 30,000 hours, and a basic smart system with apps. The maker's page gives no brightness figure, and retailer listings suggest around 120 ANSI lumens, which is very dim. In practice that means a fully dark room and a small picture, with Philips itself mentioning sizes up to 70 inches.

The conveniences are decent. Auto focus, automatic keystone correction and four-corner correction mean it is easy to place at an angle, and digital zoom helps you resize the picture without moving the unit. The built-in apps need an internet connection, and the selection is far more limited than on Google TV or Android TV, so many owners will prefer a streaming stick on the HDMI input.

Philips lists HDMI, USB and SPDIF connections in its documents, and the projector is described as having stereo sound. Throw ratio, HDR and input lag are not stated, so it is not a good choice for gaming.

If you want a larger picture for the occasional film in a bedroom or for children, it will do the job at a low outlay. For anyone who cares about sharpness or watching with any light on, the Full HD models here are a clear step up.

Spec check note: Philips publishes no price in Europe; about €170-180 is what European shops charged on 2 Nov 2026, and it varies by shop. The Philips page does not give brightness, throw ratio, weight or ports; 120 ANSI lumens comes from retailer listings, and weight (1.5 kg) and HDMI/USB/SPDIF from Philips documentation, so treat them as less certain. Retailers disagree on LED versus LCD imaging; we state LED as the light source only.

Buying guide

What to expect at this price

Projectors under €250 are dimmer than a TV, so plan to watch with the lights off. Expect a sharp image at 60 to 100 inches, simple built-in speakers and automatic focus or keystone on the better models.

Beware of inflated claims

Very cheap projectors often advertise huge lumen figures or 4K support. Usually this means they accept a 4K signal but show a lower resolution, and the lumen number is not measured to a standard. Look for native 1080p and ANSI or ISO lumens.

Lumens: compare like with like

Brightness is the figure that matters most, and the hardest to compare. ANSI and ISO lumens are measured to a standard and can be compared roughly with each other. LED lumens or unlabelled figures are usually much higher on paper than on the wall, so we show each maker's claim with its unit.

As a rough guide, a few hundred lumens is enough for a dark bedroom at about 80 inches. For a living room with some light, look for well over 1,000.

Sound and smart apps

Built-in speakers are fine for casual viewing, but most are small. If you want cinema sound, look for an eARC or audio output so you can add a soundbar or speakers.

Check the smart system too. Some projectors include Netflix and other big apps; others use a cut-down system or need a streaming stick, which adds cost.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a good projector under €100?

We could not find one we were happy to recommend. Models sold under €100 in Europe either have no maker spec page or no price we could confirm, and their claims are hard to check. Spending a little more gets you native 1080p from a known brand.

Can a cheap projector show 4K?

Some accept a 4K signal from a streaming stick, but they show it at their own resolution, usually 1080p or lower. None of the projectors on this page shows true 4K detail.

Do I need a projector screen?

No, a smooth white or light grey wall works. A screen does give a brighter, more even and sharper-looking picture, and a grey ambient-light screen helps in rooms that are not fully dark.

Why do the prices on this page differ from shop prices?

We show the maker's own price or official launch price so that every model is compared on the same basis. Shops set their own prices and often sell below the maker's list price, especially during sales. The buttons take you to each shop so you can see today's price.

Projectors under €250: where to buy in Ireland and United Kingdom?
