On Cloudrunner 3 review

Full review

The Cloudrunner 3 is On's stability option. Instead of a hard medial post, it relies on a wider base and a clip at the heel to keep the foot centred. On describes it as a daily trainer for everyday and recovery runs and steady-state training.

On's UK page does not list weight, stack or drop. Its collection page gives 296 g for the Wide men's model and rates stability at the top of its scale.

That wide setup gives a controlled, planted ride and good lateral stability. The upper and heel are plush and comfortable. On the downside, it is heavy for its height and the midsole feels flat once you pick up the pace, so it is best at easy and steady speeds.

It is also one of the cheaper shoes in On's range, which helps if you want a stable, comfortable trainer without paying super-shoe money. A Wide version and a Waterproof version are sold for wetter weather.
