Dyson V12 Detect Slim Absolute (470521-01) review

Full review

The V12 Detect Slim Absolute is the lightest stick in this comparison at 2.2 kg, and that low weight is its main attraction. It suits people who find larger cordless vacuums tiring overhead, on stairs or when cleaning the car. The listing shows a 150 AW boost rating, a 60-minute maximum runtime and a four-hour charge. The battery is a click-in pack that can be swapped.

Two floor heads come in the box: the Motorbar head and the Fluffy Optic head. Other attachments include a hair screw tool, a crevice tool, a combination tool and a low reach adaptor, and a docking station stores and charges the machine on the wall.

Filtration is described as whole-machine, trapping 99.99% of particles down to 0.3 microns, which will interest allergy sufferers. The bin is smaller than most here at 0.35 L, so expect to empty it more often.

Dyson's own site was not accessible to us, so these figures come from an Irish retailer listing for the model code 470521-01. The listing does not show dimensions, and it is silent on dust-sensing features, so we make no claims about them. The warranty is two years.
