Full review
The Huawei Band 10 is the pick if a full smartwatch feels like too much. It weighs about 15 g in aluminium (14 g in polymer) and has a tall 1.47 inch AMOLED screen at 194 x 368, which fits a notification or two comfortably. Huawei lists up to 14 days in light use, about 8 days in typical use and 3 days with the always-on display on.
It tracks heart rate with an optical sensor and has a nine-axis motion sensor, so it counts steps, sleep and workouts well. Water resistance is 5 ATM, suitable for the pool and sea but not hot showers or diving. It pairs with Android 9 or newer and iOS 13 or newer.
What it leaves out is notable. Huawei lists no built-in GPS and no NFC payments, so runs rely on your phone for location. There is no ECG and no cellular either. We could not find a price on Huawei's pages, but it is positioned as a very low-cost band.
It makes a lot of sense for sleep tracking, step counting and gym sessions, or as a lightweight second device. For maps and independent GPS, pick one of the watches above it.
