Soundcore Space A40 review

Full review

The Space A40 shows how much a low-cost pair can include. Soundcore lists adaptive noise cancelling, Bluetooth 5.2, multipoint, wireless charging and support for SBC, AAC and LDAC, a feature often reserved for pricier models. Each earbud weighs 4.9 g and uses a 10 mm double-layer diaphragm driver.

Battery life is a strength. Soundcore quotes up to 10 hours per charge, or 8 hours with noise cancelling or transparency on, and up to 50 hours in total with the case (40 hours with ANC). Ten minutes on charge gives around four hours of playback. The case supports both wireless and USB-C charging.

There are compromises. LDAC needs Android 8.0 or later and, according to Soundcore, switches multipoint off, so you pick one or the other. Soundcore claims up to 98% noise reduction but gives no decibel figure, so treat that as marketing rather than a measurement. Water resistance is IPX4, fine for sweat and rain but not for heavy workouts.

For commuters who want ANC, multipoint and a long battery without spending flagship money, the A40 is a strong starting point.
