Full review
The ExpertBook PM3 is not glamorous, but it is one of the most sensible laptops you can buy for work. ASUS pairs AMD's eight-core Ryzen AI 7 350 with Radeon 860M graphics and an NPU that makes it a Copilot+ PC.
What sets it apart is how easy it is to keep for years. Memory sits in two standard slots that take up to 64GB, and there are two SSD slots, so you can start with 16GB and 512GB and upgrade cheaply later. ASUS also builds in business security such as Microsoft Pluton and Secured-core PC support, and offers optional Premium Care cover, which matters for a small business.
The 70 Wh battery option is large for a 14-inch laptop that starts at 1.34 kg. Ports cover almost everything an office needs: two USB-C, two USB-A, HDMI 2.1 and Gigabit Ethernet, plus Wi-Fi 7.
The standard 1920 x 1200 matte screen is the weak point at 300 nits, and an optional 2560 x 1600 panel at 400 nits is worth seeking out. There is no USB4 or card reader, so check the ports against your accessories.
