The Nebula P1i stands out for its flippable speakers, which rotate 90 degrees from side to side and 200 degrees up and down. That lets you aim the sound, for example towards a seating area, and the two 10 W Dolby Audio units are louder and fuller than the small speakers on most budget projectors. It is the best sounding model in this group.

The image is native 1080p, with a brightness claim of 380 ANSI lumens that is TUV certified, which gives the figure more credibility than a plain marketing number. It is a DLP design with an LED light source according to retailer listings. That is bright enough for evening viewing but it still suits a dim room, not daylight.

Set-up is a major selling point. Autofocus, automatic keystone correction, obstacle avoidance and screen fit all try to give a usable rectangle without manual work. Motion smoothing is available in four levels, though many people leave it off for films. The lens has no optical zoom, so size is set by moving the unit closer to or further from the wall.

The system is Google TV, with Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video available. At around 3.2 kg it is not very portable and there is no battery. The maker does not state HDR or input lag on its page. For buyers who value sound and effortless placement over the lowest weight, it is an easy recommendation.
