XGIMI Elfin Flip Plus (WK03C) review

Full review

The Elfin Flip Plus is built around a simple idea: a fold-out stand that lets you tilt the projector towards a wall or even a ceiling without stacking books underneath. It is a compact Full HD model with a standard HDMI port, which already makes it easier to live with than projectors that rely on Micro HDMI adaptors.

The software is Google TV with licensed Netflix and Google Play, so streaming works without extra hardware. Auto focus and keystone correction handle most of the setup. XGIMI claims 500 ISO lumens, a little more than the cheaper MoGo 3 Pro, which gives a usefully punchier image after dark but still not enough to fight daylight.

Picture quality is a competent 1080p with HDR10 support and good colour for a small LED projector. Contrast is limited, as with most projectors in this class, so dark scenes look more grey than black.

Audio is the weak point. Two 3 W speakers handle dialogue acceptably but have little low-end weight, so a Bluetooth speaker or soundbar is worth planning for. There is no battery, so it stays near a socket.

Stated Game Mode lag is 20 ms or less with auto keystone off, which suits casual console play. Overall this is a sensible bedroom or small living room projector rather than a travel companion.
