The Darter Pro 2 is for runners who want something light and uncomplicated at a small price. Puma says it offers the essentials: ProFoam cushions each landing then springs you forward, and the upper helps keep you cool when the pace picks up. ProFoam is a lightweight EVA, so it is a more traditional foam than the nitrogen-infused NITROFOAM in the Deviate shoes.

Puma rates the cushioning as medium, lists a 6 mm drop and describes the shoe as neutral with a regular width. The upper has at least 30% recycled materials, a rounded toe shape and a flat heel type. The page does not list weight, stack height or outsole material, so those are marked not stated.

The lower drop than the Flyer Lite 4 suggests a flatter feel, which some runners prefer for a more natural stride, though you should transition gradually if you are used to 10 mm shoes.
