Full review
The UR8S is Hisense's mid-range RGB Mini LED TV for 2026. Like Sony's True RGB sets it uses separate red, green and blue LEDs in the backlight, which is designed to give purer colour than a standard blue-LED Mini LED panel.
Hisense UK lists a 180Hz panel and four HDMI 2.1 inputs, all supporting VRR up to 180Hz and ALLM, with eARC on HDMI 3 and input lag of 7ms or less at 4K 120Hz according to the brand. That is a far stronger gaming spec than Sony's RGB TVs. HDR support is broad, covering Dolby Vision 2, HDR10+ Adaptive, HDR10 and HLG.
Sound is stronger than on most TVs: Hisense lists a 2.1.2 system with up-firing speakers and a subwoofer (2 x 10W + 20W + 2 x 5W, 50W in total), tuned by Devialet.
The downsides are software and set-up. VIDAA covers the major UK apps but has a smaller app catalogue than Google TV, and as with most TVs the vivid default modes are best swapped for Filmmaker or Cinema for film viewing. Hisense does not publish the zone count.
It is the better-connected of the two Hisense RGB sets here, with four HDMI 2.1 ports against three on the UR9.
