Full review
Panasonic's Z90B is a 2025 model that remains in Panasonic's range for 2026. It is the 48-inch OLED to pick if you mostly watch films and drama and want support for every HDR format: it handles Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive, both of which adjust the picture to the light in your room.
Panasonic tunes it for a natural, faithful picture, and the default motion smoothing is best switched off (Filmmaker mode does that for you). It also has a built-in speaker bar under the screen with Dolby Atmos, which should sound fuller than the small speakers on many 48-inch TVs, though a good soundbar is still better.
Gaming is less of a strength. It reaches 144Hz, but only two of its four HDMI inputs are full HDMI 2.1, and one of those is the eARC soundbar port.
The smart platform is Amazon's Fire TV, which in the UK includes Freely for live channels. It is easy to use but carries plenty of adverts. The model is sold as the TV-48Z90B in the UK and Europe; the UK retail code is TV-48Z90BEB.
