Full review
The U8000H is the straightforward way to get a 4K TV at 43 inches. Samsung lists a 3840 x 2160 LED panel with the Crystal Processor 4K, HDR and HDR10+ support, and three HDMI ports that handle 4K at 60 Hz. For streaming from Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube, it covers the basics.
For a budget TV, the connection list is generous. Samsung's page lists both VRR and ALLM for gaming and eARC for a soundbar, which are features some cheaper rivals leave out. The speakers are 20 W 2.0 channel, which is acceptable for everyday viewing. Smart features run on Tizen, with Bixby built in and Alexa and Google Assistant in supported regions, and the tuner list covers DVB-T2C digital with a CI slot.
Being a standard LED set, it has no quantum dot layer or local dimming, so blacks look greyer in a dark room, and the refresh rate is 50 Hz. HDR formats are limited to HDR and HDR10+, with no Dolby Vision. It is a good choice for a bedroom, a student room or a family TV where the budget matters more than the last bit of picture quality.
