TCL P7L 43" QLED Google TV (43P7L-UK) review

Full review

The P7L brings Google TV to a 43-inch QLED at a friendly tier. TCL describes a QLED set with an HVA panel, a 5000:1 native contrast ratio on its page, 93% DCI-P3 colour coverage and the AiPQ processor. The retailer listing adds HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, which is a good combination of HDR formats for streaming.

Google TV is the main attraction. It gives the widest range of apps among the platforms here, with Chromecast built in and a recommendations-led home screen. TCL's page says the 43-inch model uses 2.0 speakers with Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X processing, and the Euronics listing shows 2 x 10 W RMS and three HDMI 2.1 ports. A Game Master mode is listed, but VRR and ALLM are not clearly stated.

The gaps in the data matter. We could not verify tuner types, eARC support, voice assistants or the weight and dimensions without the stand, so please check these with the retailer if they matter to you. The 60 Hz panel is fine for films and streaming. If you want Google TV and Dolby Vision in a 43-inch size without paying for Mini LED, it is worth a look.
