Full review
If you want the lowest electricity bill from a full-height fridge freezer, the Bosch Series 6 KGN39AIAT is the one to beat in this list. Bosch quotes 104 kWh a year for an A-rated, 363-litre appliance, slightly below even the LG GBBS524AEV.
It is equally quiet at 29 dB(A) and noise class A, so it will not intrude in an open-plan room. Bosch uses two separately controllable cooling systems for the fridge and freezer, which helps stop odours moving between them and keeps fresh food from drying out.
The VitaFresh XXL drawers run just below 0°C, which Bosch says keeps meat, fish and leafy veg fresh for longer than a normal crisper. The 103-litre freezer has three drawers, a four-star rating and a SuperFreezing mode for big shops, and the whole unit is frost free.
There is no Wi-Fi or Home Connect, which many buyers will not miss. The UK retailer we checked listed a standard two-year warranty, so look out for Bosch's registration offers when you buy. At 203 cm tall and 66.5 cm deep it fits a standard 60cm space, but leave room above if it goes under a wall cupboard.
