Hisense's RUL178D4AWE is a built-under larder fridge that hides behind a cupboard door. The EU energy database (EPREL) records a 138 litre total volume, an E energy class and 93 kWh a year, with noise of 37 dB(A) in class C. Its dimensions of 818 x 595 x 545 mm let it fit a standard 600mm-wide under-worktop space.

Retailer listings give three adjustable glass shelves, three door bins, one crisper and a reversible door, with a fixed-door fixing kit. That is a generous interior for a built-under fridge, and it has more fridge space than the Bosch KUL22VFD0G, which gives some up for an icebox. There is no freezer, so it suits a kitchen that already has one.

Retailers disagree on noise (37 dB at one, 39 dB at another); we use the EPREL figure. Hisense gives a two-year warranty, provided you register within 90 days. Availability is mixed: one retailer lists the model as discontinued while others still list it for order, so check stock before you plan around it. It is a manual-defrost model, so expect to clear ice build-up occasionally.
