Liebherr specialises in refrigeration, and the UIK 1514 is its mainstream under-worktop fridge with an icebox for fitted kitchens. Liebherr's UK page gives 119 litres in total and 35 dB(A), and retailers Euronics and RDO list it as 105 litres of fridge space plus a 15-litre, 4-star freezer compartment.

The features are a step above most rivals. SuperCool drops the fridge to as low as 2 degrees for up to 12 hours to chill a big shop quickly, and a door alarm sounds after 60 seconds. There are three shelves, two height-adjustable, and transparent vegetable bins.

It uses a fixed door (door-on-door) fixing, so the kitchen door is attached directly to the fridge door, which is sturdier than sliding hinges. The hinge is reversible and it fits niches from 820 to 880mm high.

Energy use is the weak point: E rated and 145 kWh a year according to RDO and Atlantic Electrics, the highest here. The draw is longevity: Euronics UK describes a two-year guarantee plus eight years' extra warranty when registered within 28 days, and RDO lists 10 years parts and labour. RDO showed it as temporarily out of stock but available to pre-order when we checked.
