Alienware 27 4K QD-OLED AW2725Q review

Full review

The AW2725Q is Alienware's 4K QD-OLED in a 27-inch frame, which puts a lot of pixels into a compact desk-friendly size. The retailer lists a 3840 x 2160 panel, a 240 Hz refresh rate and a 0.03 ms response time, with DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification. The pixel density is roughly 165 ppi, which makes text and detail look crisp.

Ports are a DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1, plus USB. For consoles, the HDMI 2.1 ports allow 4K at 120 Hz. For PC, DisplayPort 1.4 can limit 4K at 240 Hz without compression, but the monitor is aimed at modern graphics cards that handle it. The stand tilts, swivels and pivots; the listing does not state height adjustment, so check before buying. A 100 x 100 mm VESA mount is supported if you prefer an arm.

With 250 nits quoted brightness it is dimmer than the premium OLEDs for HDR highlights, a trade-off for the lower tier. Several details are not given in the listing, including warranty, full dimensions and the number of USB ports, so we avoid guessing and recommend checking Dell's page for those. At 6.37 kg with the stand it is the lightest monitor in this comparison.
