Apple iPad Pro 13-inch (M5) review

Full review

The 13-inch iPad Pro is the same tablet as the 11-inch model with a bigger screen, and for creative work that extra space makes a real difference. The 2752 x 2064 tandem OLED gives illustrators a larger canvas, photographers a better view of their edits, and video editors more room for timelines, all with perfect blacks and ProMotion up to 120Hz.

Remarkably, it is the thinnest tablet on this page at just 5.1 mm and weighs 579 g, lighter than the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and far lighter than the Surface Pro 13-inch. The M5 chip with 12GB or 16GB of memory handles pro apps such as Procreate, Lightroom, Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro with ease. A larger 38.99 Wh battery keeps the same 10-hour claim as the smaller model despite the bigger screen.

If you work under bright lights, the nano-texture glass option cuts glare, but Apple only offers it on 1TB and 2TB models, which pushes the price well above €2,000.

This is a lot of money for a tablet, and the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro add more. For most people the 11-inch Pro or the 13-inch iPad Air are better value. Buy this if your work genuinely benefits from a large, accurate OLED canvas.
