Bosch Series 4 SPV4EMX17G review

Full review

Slimline dishwashers are usually less efficient than full-size ones, but the SPV4EMX17G bucks the trend. Bosch's UK page, Currys and Euronics Ireland all list a B energy rating at 51 kWh per 100 Eco cycles and 8.7 litres of water, which beats several full-size machines on this site.

It takes 10 place settings and, unusually for a 45cm machine, has a VarioDrawer third level for cutlery and utensils, which frees the lower basket for plates and pans. The upper basket adjusts in three steps.

Drying uses Bosch's EfficientDry: the door opens a little at the end of the cycle so steam escapes, backed up by a heat exchanger. Noise is 44 dB(A), class B, and a Silence programme drops it to 43 dB(A). Home Connect lets you start it from your phone and add Hygiene Plus or Silence on Demand.

There is no half-load setting; Intensive Zone instead boosts the lower basket for pans. Bosch quotes 3 hours 55 minutes for Eco; Currys lists 213 minutes. AquaStop protects against leaks, and Bosch is offering five years' warranty on registration until March 2027. At the time of checking, Bosch's own shop and Euronics Ireland showed it out of stock while Currys and John Lewis still listed it, so check availability.
