Hisense HS523E15WUK review

Full review

Hisense's HS523E15WUK is one of the cheapest 45cm dishwashers from a mainstream brand, and comes in white, stainless (XUK) and black (BUK). Hisense's UK page lists 10 place settings, an E energy rating at 76 kWh per 100 Eco cycles, 9 litres of water and 47 dB(A), noise class C. The Eco cycle takes 235 minutes.

Unusually at this price, it has three baskets, including a top cutlery tray with its own spray nozzle, and a half-load option. Hisense rates both cleaning and drying performance as class A on its label data. Its Aqua Protect system shuts off the water and drains the machine if a leak is detected, which is better than the basic overflow switch on the Beko.

The downsides are running costs and noise. An E rating means it uses around 50 percent more electricity than the B-rated Bosch integrated model, and 47 dB(A) is noticeable in an open-plan room.

Marks Electrical lists a two-year parts and labour guarantee but showed it out of stock when we checked, so it may be harder to find. If upfront cost matters most and you run it a few times a week, it is a sensible buy.
