Miele G 5790 SCVi SL review

Full review

The G 5790 SCVi SL is the fully integrated twin of the freestanding G 5740. Miele's UK page and Atlantic Electrics agree on 9 place settings, a C energy rating at 55 kWh per 100 Eco cycles, 7.9 litres of water and 44 dB(A), noise class B. Eco takes 210 minutes.

It is 805mm high and 550mm deep, fitting a niche from 805 to 870mm high, so it suits standard kitchens and those with taller plinths.

Inside you get the MultiFlex cutlery tray, AutoOpen drying, half load and IntenseZone, plus the same QuickPowerWash and ExtraQuiet programmes as the freestanding model. A delay start of up to 24 hours lets you run it overnight on a cheaper tariff, and it can take a hot-water feed up to 60 degrees.

Prices vary widely between retailers, so it is worth comparing. Like the 5740, it has no Wi-Fi and a slightly smaller capacity than Bosch, but it is the choice for a high-end kitchen where quality and low water use matter most. Miele's standard UK warranty is two years on registration.
