OnePlus Pad Go 2 review

Full review

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 gives you the biggest screen in this group at a low price. Its 12.1-inch LCD has a high 2800 x 1980 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, so text is crisp and scrolling feels smooth. The slightly squarer 7:5 shape works well for reading web pages, comics and documents as well as watching films.

The 10,050 mAh battery is the largest on this page, so a few evenings of streaming between charges is realistic, and 33W charging refills it at a reasonable pace. MediaTek's Dimensity 7300 Ultra with 8GB of RAM keeps everyday apps, streaming and casual games running well, though it is a clear step below the Xiaomi Pad 8 for demanding games.

The 5G version is unusual at this price. It comes with 256GB and lets you browse and stream on the train without tethering to your phone.

The compromises: at about 597 g it is heavy to hold one-handed for long, the 8MP cameras are only fine for video calls, and OnePlus has not published how long it will receive updates. A stylus is supported but sold separately, so if handwriting matters, the Samsung Tab S10 FE is the better choice.
