Full review
The Turbo Levo SL 2 Comp Alloy is for riders who want an e-bike that still feels like a mountain bike. At 20.26 kg Specialized's listed weight is several kilos below the full-power bikes here, and it handles accordingly: easy to flick through corners, easy to ride with the motor off, and far easier to load onto a car. The SL 1.2 motor gives 50 Nm and 320 W of peak power, a gentle boost compared with the 85 Nm and more of full-power systems.
That trade-off defines the bike. The 320 Wh integrated battery is small, and Specialized does not publish a claimed range on this page. It suits riders who plan shorter, punchier rides, or who carry a bottle-cage range extender. Everything else is trail-ready: 150 mm of Fox suspension at both ends, a Fox Float 36 fork, SRAM Maven four-piston brakes, a SRAM Eagle T-Type 12-speed drivetrain and an adjustable-height dropper seatpost. The frame is M5 alloy and runs a 29 in front and 27.5 in rear wheel.
It is the most expensive pick on our list. If you want maximum range and climbing grunt, choose a full-power bike. If you want a lively bike and the sense of riding unassisted, it is outstanding.
