Best 100-inch TVs in 2026 (97 to 100 inches)

Updated · 5 products compared · 19 features compared

If you are looking for a 100-inch OLED TV, the honest answer is that one does not exist. The biggest OLED you can buy is 97 inches, and right now that means LG's G6. Every TV at 98 or 100 inches uses an LCD panel lit by Mini-LEDs, either the usual blue-LED kind or the newer RGB Mini-LED backlights.

So this guide compares the best 97 to 100-inch TVs side by side, with the panel type clearly marked. OLED gives perfect blacks and wide viewing angles; the big Mini-LED sets are far cheaper and brighter, which matters in a sunny room.

Quick answer: Best OLED: LG G6 97" (the largest OLED made). Best value 100-inch: Samsung QN80H 100". Best for bright rooms: TCL X11L 98". Best for colour and gaming: Hisense UR8S 100".

Pros

  • Perfect blacks and no blooming around bright objects
  • Wide viewing angle for big family rooms
  • Four HDMI inputs with 4K 120Hz, VRR and ALLM
  • Designed to hang flat on the wall

Cons

  • Price is in a different league from the Mini-LED sets
  • Limited to 120Hz, while smaller G6 sizes reach 165Hz
  • No HDR10+ support

The 97-inch G6 is the closest thing to a 100-inch OLED you can buy. Each pixel makes its own light, so dark scenes have true black with no grey haze or halo around subtitles, which is something even the best Mini-LED sets cannot fully match. Colours stay accurate when you sit well off to the side, which helps in a wide living room where not everyone sits in the middle.

LG's own spec page confirms four HDMI inputs that handle 4K at 120Hz with variable refresh rate and auto low latency mode, plus eARC on HDMI 2 for a soundbar. Note that the 97-inch tops out at 120Hz, while the smaller G6 sizes go up to 165Hz. For consoles that is no loss, since the PS5 and Xbox Series X output 120Hz at most.

The G series is built to hang on the wall, and at this size you will want a professional install: the set is heavy and very wide. webOS 26 is quick and LG promises security updates to the end of 2030.

The big drawback is cost. You could buy several of the 98 and 100-inch Mini-LED TVs in this list for the price of one 97-inch G6, and they are likely to go brighter. Choose the G6 if you watch mostly films in a dim room and want the best contrast, not the most screen per pound.

Pros

  • Full 100-inch screen
  • All four HDMI inputs accept 4K at up to 144Hz
  • Mini-LED backlight gives good brightness for daytime viewing
  • Much cheaper than the 97-inch OLED

Cons

  • No Dolby Vision, as with all Samsung TVs
  • Blacks and off-angle viewing fall short of OLED
  • A step below Samsung's QN90-series brightness and dimming

The QN80H is Samsung's mid-range Neo QLED, and the 100-inch model is the most affordable way to get a genuine 100-inch screen from a major brand this year. Neo QLED is Samsung's name for an LCD panel lit by thousands of tiny LEDs, which can be dimmed in zones to improve contrast.

For gaming it is well equipped. UK retailer specs list four HDMI inputs, each accepting 4K at up to 144Hz with variable refresh rate, so you can plug in a console and a gaming PC without swapping cables. The panel runs at 100Hz natively and reaches 144Hz with VRR.

HDR support covers HDR10+, including the new HDR10+ Advanced, but not Dolby Vision. Netflix and Disney+ still play in HDR10 on this set, so you are not locked out of HDR, but you lose the scene-by-scene Dolby Vision metadata.

As an LCD, it cannot match the 97-inch OLED for black depth, and you may see faint glow around bright objects on a dark background. Picture quality also dips if you sit far to the side. In return you get a much larger screen and better daytime brightness for a far lower price, which for most people buying this size is the right trade.

Hisense UR8S 100" RGB Mini-LED (100UR8STUK)

A colourful RGB Mini-LED giant with a 180Hz panel, four HDMI 2.1 inputs and both main HDR formats.

Compare prices in other countries

Each shop shows its own price, currency and delivery terms. Not every shop delivers abroad, and taxes can differ.

Pros

  • Supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10+
  • Native 180Hz panel with four HDMI 2.1 inputs
  • RGB backlight gives very saturated colour
  • Freely built in for UK live TV

Cons

  • VIDAA has a smaller app choice than Google TV
  • Still an LCD, so blacks are not OLED-level
  • Very heavy and needs a wide stand or strong wall

Hisense's UR8S uses an RGB Mini-LED backlight: instead of blue LEDs shining through a colour layer, it uses separate red, green and blue LEDs behind the panel. The result is very rich, saturated colour, and Hisense positions the 100-inch as its giant-screen option.

Hisense UK's spec page lists four HDMI 2.1 inputs, with VRR and ALLM up to 180Hz on three of them and eARC on the fourth. That native 180Hz panel is the fastest here, which suits PC gamers more than console players, as consoles stop at 120Hz.

It is one of the few big sets to support both Dolby Vision (including the newer Dolby Vision 2) and HDR10+, so it handles whatever HDR version your streaming service sends. Hisense quotes a 3,800-nit peak brightness, which is a manufacturer claim.

The smart system is VIDAA, Hisense's own platform. It covers the big streaming apps and includes Freely for UK channels, but its app store is smaller than Google TV's. As with any LCD, black levels and side viewing are not up to OLED standard. In the UK it is sold as 100UR8STUK; elsewhere in Europe it is the 100UR8S.

TCL X11L 98" SQD Mini-LED (98X11L)

TCL X11L 98" SQD Mini-LED (98X11L)

Best for: Very bright rooms · Premium

An extremely bright flagship Mini-LED with over 20,000 dimming zones, at a price close to premium OLED.

Compare prices in other countries

Each shop shows its own price, currency and delivery terms. Not every shop delivers abroad, and taxes can differ.

Pros

  • Huge brightness for sunny rooms
  • 20,736 dimming zones in the 98-inch (TCL figure)
  • Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+
  • Four HDMI 2.1 inputs

Cons

  • Very expensive for a TCL
  • Very wide feet need a wide stand or wall mount
  • Heavy at around 69 kg

The X11L is TCL's flagship, and it uses what TCL calls super quantum dots (SQD) to filter colour more precisely than standard quantum-dot Mini-LED sets. TCL's specification lists 20,736 local dimming zones for the 98-inch model sold in the UK, which is a lot even for a screen this size. More zones let the TV light bright objects without washing grey light into the dark area around them.

This is the set to pick if your room gets a lot of daylight. TCL claims extremely high peak brightness for the 98-inch, which is best read as a marketing maximum, but it places the set at the top of TCL's range for bright rooms.

TCL's specification sheet lists four HDMI 2.1 inputs at 4K 144Hz, and European retailers list a VRR mode up to 288Hz. HDR coverage is complete, with Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+. It runs Google TV, which has the widest app choice of any platform here.

The weak points are the price, which is far above what TCL usually charges, and the sheer size and weight. The feet sit near the edges, so plan to wall-mount it or buy a stand wider than about 2.2 metres.

Spec check note: We could not reach a TCL UK spec page. The HDMI count and sizes come from TCL's own specification sheet; the 288Hz VRR figure comes from a European retailer listing. A second 98-inch variant with fewer zones exists, so check the zone count on the listing before you buy. Size and weight come from TCL's spec sheet (converted from inches and pounds); a European retailer lists 2168 x 1267 x 21 mm and 66 kg, so we use TCL's figures. Sony Bravia 7 II 98" True RGB (K-98XR75M2)

Sony's RGB Mini-LED brings natural colour and good processing to 98 inches, but only two inputs are HDMI 2.1.

Each shop shows its own price, currency and delivery terms. Not every shop delivers abroad, and taxes can differ.

Pros

  • Natural, accurate colour from Sony's processing
  • RGB backlight for strong colour volume
  • Google TV with a wide app choice
  • Dolby Vision support

Cons

  • Only two HDMI 2.1 ports, one shared with eARC
  • Not described as anti-glare
  • No HDR10+

The Bravia 7 II is Sony's first range to use a True RGB LED backlight, with separate red, green and blue LEDs behind the LCD panel. At 98 inches it is a strong choice if you mostly watch films and drama and care about natural skin tones and smooth, well-judged processing, which has long been Sony's strength.

Only two of the four HDMI inputs are full HDMI 2.1, and one of those is the eARC port. If you use an eARC soundbar and own two consoles, you will be swapping cables. The panel runs at 120Hz, which is enough for PS5 and Xbox Series X.

It supports Dolby Vision but not HDR10+, the opposite of Samsung. Google TV gives you every major app, although the home screen carries large adverts.

Sony does not describe an anti-glare coating or publish a dimming zone count, so it suits a room where you can control daylight better than a sunny conservatory. In the UK it is sold as the K-98XR75M2 (retail code K98XR75M2PB).

Buying guide

Is there a 100-inch OLED TV?

No. OLED panels currently stop at 97 inches, and only LG sells a 97-inch OLED in the UK and Ireland. Every 98 and 100-inch TV uses an LCD panel with a Mini-LED backlight. If you specifically want OLED, the 97-inch LG G6 is the one to look at; the difference of three inches is barely noticeable from the sofa.

OLED or Mini-LED at this size?

OLED gives perfect black, no halo around bright objects and wide viewing angles, which suits film fans in a dim room. Mini-LED sets get much brighter and cost far less at this size, so they suit bright living rooms and anyone on a tighter budget.

RGB Mini-LED (Hisense UR8S, Sony Bravia 7 II) is a newer type that uses red, green and blue LEDs in the backlight for richer colour. It is still an LCD, so it cannot switch individual pixels off like OLED.

Check your room and wall first

A 100-inch TV is about 2.2 metres wide and many weigh over 60 kg. Measure the wall and doorways before ordering, and check that your stand is wide enough for feet that sit near the edges. For comfortable viewing at 4K, a seating distance of roughly 2.5 to 4 metres works well.

HDR formats and HDMI

Dolby Vision and HDR10+ are two competing ways of improving HDR scene by scene. Samsung supports only HDR10+, LG and Sony only Dolby Vision, while Hisense and TCL support both. For gaming, count the HDMI 2.1 ports: Sony gives you two, the others four.

Frequently asked questions

Can you buy a 100-inch OLED TV in the UK?

No. The largest OLED TV on sale is 97 inches, from LG. All 98 and 100-inch TVs use Mini-LED LCD panels instead.

What is the best 100-inch TV for the money?

The Samsung QN80H 100-inch is the most affordable true 100-inch set from a major brand here, with four 144Hz HDMI inputs. It lacks Dolby Vision and cannot match OLED blacks.

How far should I sit from a 100-inch TV?

Around 2.5 to 4 metres is comfortable for 4K content. Closer than that and you may find yourself turning your head to follow action.

Is a 97-inch OLED worth it over a 100-inch Mini-LED?

Only if picture contrast matters more than price and brightness. The 97-inch OLED costs many times more, while the big Mini-LED sets are brighter and better for daytime viewing.

Do 100-inch TVs need special installation?

Usually yes. They are heavy and very wide, so a professional wall-mount install or a sturdy, wide stand is strongly recommended.
